Fatal Hit And Run Crash Near Richmond

A man has died after a fail to stop crash in Sydney's north west.

About 11.30pm yesterday (Monday 11 August 2025), emergency services responded to reports that the body of a man had been located along Springwood Road, Yarramundi, about 10km south-west of Richmond.

The male – who is yet to identified – died at the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services.

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command secured a crime scene that was later examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Inquiries have established that the man was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop.

Police have been informed that a dark coloured vehicle was seen to be travelling north along Springwood Road in an erratic manner around the time of the incident.

As investigation commence police are urging anyone who may have information about the crash – or was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Windsor Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
