Fatal House Fire in Castle Hill: Emergency Crews On Scene

A man has died in a house fire in Sydney's north west.

About 6.45pm yesterday (Thursday 11 June 2026), emergency services responded to reports of a fire inside a home on Winchcombe Place, Castle Hill.

Officers from The Hills Police Area Command were informed that relatives of the man extinguished the fire with a garden hose.

The fire was contained to a bedroom within the home.

A 37-year-old man was located deceased within the premises prior to the arrival of emergency services.

A crime scene was secured and an investigation commenced.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
