Fatal House Fire in Mount Gambier

Police are investigating a fatal house fire in Mount Gambier this morning.

Emergency services were called to McIntosh Street, Mount Gambier just before 6am on Sunday 9 July by reports of a house fire.

Neighbouring premises were evacuated.

Sadly, one person was located deceased inside the premises.

A second occupant managed to escape without injury.

The fire was extinguished by fire crews.

Limestone Coast CIB detectives are investigating and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Fire cause investigators will attend the scene today to try to determine the cause of the fire.
