Police will prepare a report for the coroner after the death of a man in a light plane crash in Mordialloc this evening, Victoria Police say.
Emergency services were called to Scarlet Street just after 5pm to a small plane that was on fire in the street.
One person, who is yet to be formally identified and the sole occupant, was located deceased in the aircraft.
The exact cause of the crash will be investigated by Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
No one else was injured during the incident.
