Fatal motorcycle crash in Cowan

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner after a motorcyclist died in a crash at Cowan earlier today, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 11.30am today, emergency services were called to the Old Pacific Highway at Cowan after reports of a crash.

Officers from the Traffic & Highway Patrol Command and Kuring-gai Local Area Command attended and found a male motorcycle rider who had come off his machine.

The man was treated at the scene by Ambulance paramedics however he could not be revived.

Police established a crime scene at the location and commenced inquiries into the crash.

It is believed that the rider, a 45-year-old man from the Central Coast, was attempting to pass another motorcycle when he struck an armco railing and was thrown from his motorbike.

The Old Pacific Highway is closed at Cowan in both directions as police examine the crash site.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner outlining the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
