A man has died following a motorcycle crash in Port Melbourne last night (15 July), Victoria Police say.
It is believed the bike was travelling south along the Bolte Bridge about 10pm and took the exit ramp towards the Burnley Tunnel when it lost control around a bend and crashed into a side barrier.
The rider was ejected from the bike and thrown over the ramp.
He died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are currently on scene.
Investigators wish to speak to the rider of a second motorbike which was observed riding alongside the vehicle immediately prior to the crash.
Witnesses have reported the two bikes may have been racing at high speed.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident, including anyone with dash cam footage, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
