Fatal pedestrian crash - Ashfield 13 March

An investigation is underway after a fatal pedestrian crash in Sydney's inner west.

About 3.20pm today (Sunday 13 March 2022), emergency services responded to reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a dual cap four wheel drive at the intersection of Frederick and John Streets, Ashfield.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man; however, he died at the scene. The man is yet to be identified.

The driver of the vehicle – a 48-year-old woman – was not injured. She was taken to Canterbury Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Motorists should avoid the area due to major traffic delays.
