Fatal pedestrian crash at Lismore

A man has died after a crash on the state's north coast last night.

About 11.30pm (Sunday 17 July 2022), emergency services were called to Lismore Road, Wollongbar following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

Officers attached to Richmond Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics responded, locating a 49-year-old man who had died at the scene.

The driver of the car – an 18-year-old man – was uninjured and will undergo mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit.
