Fatal pedestrian crash - Bonnyrigg

A man has died after being hit by a car in Sydney's south-west.

About 9.15pm yesterday (Sunday 24 December 2023), emergency services responded to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car along Edensor Road, Bonnyrigg.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 79-year-old man but he could not be revived and died at the scene.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene that was examined by specialist officers.

The driver of the vehicle – a 49-year-old man – was uninjured and taken to Fairfield Hospital for mandatory testing.

A 20-year-old woman in the vehicle was also uninjured.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
