Fatal pedestrian crash in Eastwood

Police are investigating after a fatal pedestrian crash at Eastwood this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 2.40pm (Saturday 7 April 2018), emergency services were called to the intersection of Rutledge Street and East Parade, Eastwood, after reports a woman had been hit by a car.

A 61-year-old woman was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition, where she later died.

The 62-year-old male driver of the vehicle was taken to Ryde Hospital for mandatory testing before being taken to Ryde Police Station.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command and the Crash Investigation Unit are making inquiries into the incident.
