A person has died and another has received serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Sadadeen Road overnight.
Police received a report of a man and a woman being struck by a vehicle near a pedestrian crossing on Sadadeen Road just before 11pm, Northern Territory Police say.
On arrival officers located a 44-year-old man dead at the scene and a 37-year-old woman with injuries. The woman was transported to the Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.
Members of the Major Crash Unit attended the scene and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
No further details are available at this stage.
Police are seeking public assistance from anyone who was in the area of Sadadeen Road near the pedestrian crossing, around that time to contact police on 131 444.
The death take the Territory road toll to 43 compared to 23 for the same period last year.
