A man has died after a fire in the state's central west.
About 2.30am today (Friday 25 July 2025), emergency services responded to reports of a fire inside a granny flat at the rear of a home on Aberford Street, Coonamble.
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.
The body of a man was located inside the premises.
Whilst yet to be formally identified the body is believed to be the 34-year-old occupant.
Officers from Orana Mid Western Police District established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation.
About one hour prior to the fire police were at the location for an unrelated matter.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
