Fatal single-vehicle crash in Oberon

A woman has died after a single-vehicle crash in the state's west today.

About 11.10am (Sunday 20 January 2019), emergency services responded to an overturned vehicle on Abercrombie Road, Oberon.

Officers from Chifley Police District attended and located a 90-year-old woman trapped in a Toyota Corolla.

She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

For unknown reasons, it's believed the vehicle left the road while travelling south on Abercrombie Road, about 500 metres north of Mozart Road, before ending overturned in a nearby paddock.

She was extricated from the vehicle, before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, where she later died.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or may have information about the incident to come forward.
