A man has died after crashing into a tree on the state's Mid North Coast overnight.
About 11.50pm (Monday 23 March 2026), emergency services were called to Failford Road, near the intersection with The Lakes Way, Failford, about 17km northwest of Forster, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Manning-Great Lakes Police District attended and found that a car had driven off the road and crashed into a tree.
The male driver is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be aged in his 30s.
Police established a crime scene and an investigation into the cause of the crash has commenced.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
