A crime scene has been established after a fatal stabbing in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.
About 5.30pm today, a domestic incident occurred at a home on Waikanda Crescent, Whalan.
During the incident a 50-year-old man received multiple stab wounds and died at the scene.
A woman and child at the scene were uninjured.
Police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene which will be examined by forensic specialists.
A short time later, a 20-year-old man was arrested nearby.
He has been taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
