An investigation is underway after a fatal stabbing on the state's Mid North Coast yesterday.
About 8.15pm (Thursday 28 April 2022), emergency services were called to a home on Gilbert Cory Street, South West Rocks, about 40km north east of Kempsey, following reports of a stabbing.
Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and found a 39-year-old male occupant of the home deceased.
A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, a 73-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Kempsey Police Station.
Investigations are continuing.
The two men were known to each other.
