Fatal stabbing; woman arrested, NSW

A woman has been arrested after a fatal stabbing in Sydney’s west today, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to a home on Meroo Street, Blacktown, about 5.20pm (Wednesday 11 October 2018), after reports a man had been stabbed.

Officers performed CPR on the man, aged in his 40s, until paramedics arrived, however, he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

A 50-year-old woman, known to the man, was arrested at another home on Meroo Street.

She has been taken to Blacktown Police Station where she is assisting with inquiries.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command have established a crime scene.

As investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue, police urge any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
