Fatal Traffic Crash at Lake Barrine Draws Police Response

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred at Lake Barrine in the Tablelands Region this morning, 16 December.

Initial investigations indicate that around 7:50 am, a silver Ford Courier and a white Mitsubishi truck collided on Gillies Range Road.

The driver of the Courier, a 77-year-old Peeramon man, was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 38-year-old Gordonvale man, was treated for minor injuries.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
