A man has died following a serious traffic crash involving a car and pedestrian at Mermaid Waters yesterday afternoon, 26 August.
Initial investigations indicate around 4.50pm, the pedestrian was struck by a Subaru Liberty while crossing Markeri Street at the intersection with Rio Vista Boulevard.
The pedestrian, a 70-year-old Mermaid Waters man, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries but passed away this morning.
The 40-year-old male driver of the vehicle and his 34-year-old female passenger, both also from Mermaid Waters, were not injured in the incident.
The Forensic Crash Unit who are investigating the incident are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam to the come forward.
