Fatal traffic crash at Murrumba Downs, QLD

A 24-year-old man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash at Murrumba Downs this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary inquiries indicate the car was travelling south on Castle Hill Drive when it passed through the Kingshand Street roundabout and crashed into a tree on the opposite side of the road.

The 24-year-old male driver from Murrumba Downs was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 17-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Two other male passengers aged 17 and 18 and an 18-year-old female passenger were transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
