Police are investigating following a fatal traffic crash at Benobble, near Canungra this afternoon, Queensland Police say.
Preliminary information suggests a hatchback was travelling northbound along Beaudesert-Nerang Road at around 3.50pm when it collided with a ute heading in the opposite direction.
A station wagon that was also travelling northbound then collided with the hatchback as it spun out from the initial crash.
The driver of the hatchback, an 18-year-old Beaudesert woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the ute, a 49-year-old man and his 15-year-old female passenger escaped with minor injuries.
The 30-year-old female driver of the station wagon also sustained minor injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
