The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred in Eight Mile Plains this morning, Queensland Police say.
Initial investigations suggest at 9.40am a Honda Civic was travelling north in the southbound lanes of Logan Road when it collided with a Hyundai sedan heading south near Levington Road.
The Hyundai then hit a dual-cab utility which was also travelling south.
The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai, a 22-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 72-year-old female driver of the Honda was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
The occupants of the utility were treated at the scene.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam footage of Underwood Road through to Levington Road prior to the incident, to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
