A man has died following a two vehicle traffic crash in Hay Point this morning, Queensland Police say.
Initial investigations suggest around 5.30am a car was travelling north on Hay Point Road when it has lost control and veered onto the incorrect side of the road before colliding with a motorcycle.
As a result of the impact, the rider, a 42-year-old man was taken to Mackay Base Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered only minor injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
