Police are investigating following a fatal traffic incident on Palm Island this afternoon, Queensland Police say.
Preliminary information indicates at around 12:30pm a minibus unloaded people at Serenity Crescent.
During this process a 20-month-old girl moved to the front of the vehicle and was struck as the vehicle pulled away.
The girl was transported to Palm Island Hospital but passed away this afternoon.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit will be flown to Palm Island to investigate the incident.
