Fatal traffic incident at Bundaberg, QLD

A man has died following a fatal traffic incident at Bundaberg this morning, Queensland Police say.

Emergency services were called to Rattray Street in Avenell Heights around 7.30am to reports of an injured motorcycle rider.

The rider, a 57-year-old man Bundaberg, was treated at the scene before being transported to the Bundaberg Base Hospital, where he passed away.

While initial investigations started at the scene, officers were stopped by the driver of a vehicle, suspected of being involved in an earlier incident causing the rider to come off the motorcycle.

The male driver is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any dash cam footage which may have recorded drivers on Rattray Street around the time.

The Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
