Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a fatal traffic incident after a man was struck by an oncoming vehicle at Helensvale earlier today, Queensland Police say.
Initial information suggests around 11:30am, a 25-year-old man was parked on the shoulder of the
M1, Northbound at Helensvale working on the engine of his motor vehicle; a silver Holden Rodeo.
A 33-year-woman, driving a red Hyundai, has subsequently collided with the parked vehicle.
Emergency services attended and the 25-year-old Redcliffe man was declared deceased at the scene.
Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area at the time to contact them. Anyone with relevant dash cam vision is also asked to contact police.
