Fetching Name For Newest Pawtner Needed

Greeting patrons with a tail-wagging welcome, Batemans Bay library's new four-legged mascot is ready to teach kids all about tech or simply snuggle up as their favourite Storytime sidekick. Better yet, it doesn't shed, and it doesn't bark.

The state-of-the-art robotic dog is designed to delight, educate and inspire visitors of all ages. Eurobodalla Libraries coordinator Sam Fenton says the robodog is more than just a gadget.

"With sensors, voice interaction and playful programming, this tech-savvy pup is a symbol of how libraries are evolving to connect with community ways that are meaning but also fun," Ms Fenton says.

Every dog needs a name and the library is running a competition to find one for their newest recruit.

"We invite everyone – young and old – to take part. The winner will not only have the honour of naming the robodog but will receive a library prize pack as well. Simply pop in or contact the library. Entries close on Friday 10 October with the winner's announcement at our Dr Seuss-themed Storytime at 10.30am on Monday 13 October," says Ms Fenton.
