Finance Minister Comments on TAFE Queensland CEO

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training The Honourable Ros Bates

The Crisafulli Government has today thanked Mr John Tucker for his contribution as Chief Executive Officer of TAFE Queensland.

Mr Tucker has today notified TAFE staff he will conclude as Chief Executive, effective December.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates acknowledged Mr Tucker's contribution to TAFE Queensland over multiple decades and wished him success in future endeavours.

After a decade of decline in TAFE and in skills training under Labor, the Crisafulli Government has spent the last ten months delivering a vocational training sector which will build the workforce to deliver the homes, hospitals, and major projects Queensland needs.

Acting arrangements will be made to ensure the important work of TAFE Queensland continues until a new appointment is made. A merit-based selection process to find a new CEO for TAFE Queensland will begin shortly.
