Firearms and drugs seized during Carrajung Lower warrants

Police have charged two men with drug and firearms offences after warrants were executed in Carrajung Lower yesterday, Victoria Police say.

Detectives from Wellington Crime Investigation Unit and Yarram police executed the warrants at two rural properties on Carrajung Lower Road from just after 9am.

A 41-year-old Carrajung Lower man was arrested at the first property and cannabis plants and a firearm were also located at the house.

He has been charged with a range of drug and firearms offences.

A warrant was then executed at a neighbouring property and police uncovered a hydroponic cannabis crop with 60 plants in a garage at that address.

Police also seized 15 firearms, ammunition, weapons including a conducted energy device, imitation firearm and OC spray, plus a quantity of prescription medication.

A 39-year-old Carrajung Lower man was charged with a range of drug and firearms offences including cultivate drug of dependence, traffic drug of dependence and possess traffickable quantity of firearms.

Both men have been bailed to appear at Sale Magistrate’s Court in March 2017.
