Firearms Seized, Deception Bay

Police have charged a man and seized multiple weapons following a disturbance in Deception Bay.

On Sunday 3 May, police were called to Grosvenor Terrace following reports a physical altercation had broken out between a group of youths in the street, where a baseball bat and firearm were presented.

Subsequent enquiries led police to execute a search of a nearby address where they located a shortened rifle, a pistol, a slam gun and a baseball bat. A number of other items were also seized.

A 19-year-old Deception Bay man was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, as well as one count each of threatening violence, possess shortened firearms and authority required to possess explosives.

He is due to face Caboolture Magistrates Court on 26 May.
