Firearms stolen from rural property in Benalla

Benalla Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after five firearms were stolen from a rural property in Benalla.

Detectives believe the people involved have entered a shed on the Samaria Road property sometime between 5pm on Friday 26 May and 1.30pm on Monday 29 May.

It appears the offenders have used an angle grinder and sledgehammer to gain entry to a gun safe before stealing five long arms, made up of four high powered rifles and a shotgun.

It is unknown how many offenders were involved or how they entered and exited the property.
