Five arrested during drug supply investigation in Albury

Five people have been arrested following investigations into an alleged drug supply syndicate in the state’s south, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Palena was established in February 2018 by detectives from Murray River Police District to investigate an alleged drug supply syndicate in the Albury-Wodonga area.

Just after 11am on Wednesday 1 August 2018, officers arrested a 45-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman in Dean Street, Albury. When police searched the man they allegedly located cocaine.

At the same time, officers executed two search warrants at homes in Nightingale Street, Wodonga and Kurrajong Crescent, West Albury.

Two men, aged 46 and 49, and a 35-year-old woman were arrested at the West Albury home.

Police allegedly located a commercial quantity of methyamphetamine, cash, a homemade firearm, drug paraphernalia and a $16,500 Louis Vuitton ladies handbag.

All items were secured for forensic analysis.

The five people were taken to Albury Police Station where they are assisting police.
