Five charged following Burwood incidents

Southern Metro Region Crime Team, Eastern Region Crime Squad and Whittlesea detectives have charged five males following a series of aggravated burglaries, attempted armed robberies and thefts of motor vehicles in Burwood and Burwood East this month, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged armed offenders attempted to gain entry to two service stations in Burwood and Burwood East just after 2am on 8 May.

It is further alleged they were involved in a number of aggravated burglaries in Melbourne’s southeast between 6 and 8 May, where four vehicles were stolen.

Two men, a 20-year-old from Lalor and an 18-year-old from Bundoora, have been charged with multiple counts of aggravated burglary, burglary and theft of motor vehicle.

They are due to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court today.

A 17-year-old Mill Park boy has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated burglary, burglary and theft of motor vehicle.

A 16-year-old Thomastown boy has been charged with theft of motor vehicle.

Both are expected to appear at a children’s court.

A 17-year-old Craigieburn boy was charged with theft of motor vehicle and bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
