Five charged following street brawl in Tregear

Police have charged five people following a street brawl in Sydney’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

Police were called to Mawson Road, Tregear, following reports of a brawl about 5.30pm (29 August 2017).

Upon arrival, officers were told that a brawl had erupted with offenders arming themselves with machetes and poles.

It is alleged that one man, aged 46, drove a vehicle towards pedestrians. That man suffered a minor injury when a brick was thrown at him.

Police from Mount Druitt Local Area Command arrested six people at the scene.

Five were charged with offences including affray and armed with intent.

The 46-year-old man was also charged with drive recklessly at a speed manner dangerous and menacing driving.

Four of the males were granted conditional bail.

A 16-year-old male was refused bail and will appear in Children’s Court today.

The sixth person was released pending further inquiries.

Inquiries continue.
