Five men charged over drug offences Miami

Police from the Gold Coast Rapid Action Patrols (RAP) have charged five men following the alleged discovery of cannabis and other drug paraphernalia at Miami yesterday afternoon.

Around 5pm yesterday police executed a search warrant at a Bardon Avenue house where it is alleged a number of cannabis plants were located growing in pots and other drug use items were located.

A 23-year-old man from Miami has been given a notice to appear on two counts of possess a dangerous drug and one count each of produce dangerous drugs, possess things used in commission of offence, possess utensil and contravene a requirement.

A 24-year-old Miami man was issued with a notice to appear on one count each of produce a dangerous drug, possess a dangerous drug and possess thing used.

A 26-year-old Miami man has been given a notice to appear two counts of possess a dangerous drug and one count of possess a utensil.

A 24-year-old Burleigh Waters man has been issued with a notice to appear on one count each of possess a dangerous drug, possess a drug utensil and possess thing used.

An 18-year-old Burleigh Waters man has been given a notice to appear for possess a dangerous drug.

The men are due to face the Southport Magistrates Court in a fortnight.

Officer in Charge of Gold Coast RAP Acting Inspector Mat Kelly said the seizure was a result of information provided to police.

"The seizure is a great example of the community continuing to work with police to remove a drugs from the streets of the Gold Coast.
