ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:

Minor Flooding no longer occurring at Nitmiluk Centre. River levels are easing along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre. Further showers and storms are forecast over the catchment for the next few days, which may cause small renewed river level rises.

The situation is being monitored and warnings will be issued as required.

Katherine River Gorge Road:

No further flooding is expected along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre.

The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently at 2.96 m and steady, below the minor flood level. Small renewed river level rises are possible along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre, however the river level is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m).

Safety Advice:

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.Check the ABC and local media for updates.
