Flood Recovery Assistance And Support

Flood waste area - Waste Management FacilityThe NSW Reconstruction Authority's Pop Up Flood Recovery Centre is continuing this week at Windsor Function Centre, 7 Dight St, Windsor through to Friday, 19 April from 10am to 4pm. See www.service.nsw.gov.au/services/recovery-centres for details.

The Flood Recovery Centre brings together NSW and local government agencies, community organisations and welfare bodies under one roof, providing access to support services for disaster-affected individuals, families, farmers, and business owners to help them heal and begin the clean-up and recovery process. Attendees can also access mental health first aid and talk to not-for-profits, and Government and community organisations.

Flood waste accepted free of charge by Hawkesbury City Council

The Hawkesbury City Waste Management Facility is accepting flood waste free of charge from Hawkesbury residential properties impacted by the recent floods. Residents who are attending the Waste Management Facility are asked to show patience, kindness, and respect to all onsite staff. Traffic control will be in place over the weekend.

Flood waste should not contain prohibited items like soil, fibro, or asbestos. Loads will be checked at the weighbridge as usual. Loads containing asbestos or any other prohibited waste will be rejected. These cannot be accepted even if it is flood waste.

The Waste Facility is open to Hawkesbury Local Government Area residents from 8am to 4pm, 7 days a week (excluding public holidays). Please bring proof of address such as a Driver's Licence or Rates Notice. Please note that charges apply for all other waste that is not flood waste and for residential properties that are not flood affected.

Wilberforce Community Hub

Flood recovery assistance for the recent flood in April 2024 will also be offered at the Wilberforce Community Hub at the Wilberforce School of Arts at 531 Wilberforce Rd, Wilberforce.
