Flood recovery works are progressing well, with several repairs completed this year. Highlights have included completion of major landslips repairs on Wilsons Creek Road and Possum Shoot Road. With several other landslip repairs done on Main Arm Road, Kings Road, Monet Drive, Binna Burra Road and Goonengerry Road, and culvert repairs and replacements completed at Coopers Lane and Left Bank Road.
"Council staff and contractors will now focus on works at Main Arm, Wanganui, Upper Wilsons Creek and Huonbrook, as well as other locations throughout the Shire," said James Flockton, Council's Acting Manager Infrastructure Recovery.
"We know people have been patiently waiting for flood repair work, particularly in Main Arm, and we are pleased that we can deliver this work shortly. Minor work is underway now, with more substantial work expected to begin later this year," said Mr Flockton.
"Repair work in the Main Arm area will take 18 months to complete. Due to this, temporary bypass tracks will be constructed at major causeway sites, to reduce disruption for commuters," he added.
