Forensic search conducted over suspicious disappearance of Samah Baker

Detectives have conducted a thorough forensic search on the state's south coast as part of investigations into the suspicious disappearance of a Western Sydney woman.

Samah Baker, aged 30, was last seen after she was dropped off at her Early Street, Parramatta, home by a friend in the early hours of Friday 4 January 2019.

She was reported missing by relatives after they could not get in contact with her.

Detectives from Parramatta Police Area Command, assisted by detectives from the Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Boutcher to investigate her suspicious disappearance.

During the investigation, detectives charged a 32-year-old man, who remains before the courts.

As part of their inquiries, strike force investigators, with the assistance of the Dog Unit, Public Order and Riot Squad, Operations Support Group and Marine Command, commenced a forensic examination of bushland in South Nowra yesterday (Tuesday 30 April 2019) and today (Wednesday 1 May 2019).

Investigators located and seized several items of interest, which will undergo forensic examination.

Investigations under Strike Force Boutcher, which include inquiries to locate Samah Baker's body, continue.
