A former police officer will appear in court today charged after allegedly filming a person without consent.
On Wednesday 8 September 2021, officers attached to the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation after reports a child was filmed in the bathroom of a south coast home.
Following inquiries, a 47-year-old man, who was a senior constable attached to a command in the Southern Region at the time, was arrested just after 6pm that day.
He was taken to Oaks Flats Police Station and charged with film person in private act without consent – aggravated.
The man was granted conditional bail and appeared at Port Kembla Local Court today (Wednesday 15 September 2021). He is due to appear in the same court on Thursday 4 November 2021.
He has since resigned.
