Former officer charged - Southern Region 28 January

A former police officer has been charged after allegedly accessing restricted information.

In March last year, an investigation was commenced after an internal audit identified alleged misconduct offences by a male sergeant attached to Southern Region.

Just before midday yesterday (Thursday 27 January 2022), a 48-year-old male former sergeant was issued a Court Attendance Notice (CAN) for 20 counts of access/modify restricted data held in computer.

He is due to appear at Cowra Local Court on Wednesday 6 April 2022.

The officer is no longer an employee of the NSW Police Force.
