Former officer charged with robbery, NSW

A former police officer has been charged with the alleged robbery of a man in Haymarket, NSW Police say.

It will be alleged in court on 6 December 2013, the 32-year-old was involved in the robbery of a man who was walking cash from his business to a nearby bank on Pitt Street.

Following an extensive investigation, today, the former officer was arrested at Parramatta Police Station.

He was charged with robbery in company and refused bail, to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.

The alleged offence occurred whilst the officer was employed as a NSW police officer.
