Former teacher charged over historical indecent assaults in Goulburn

Police have charged a former teacher following investigations into alleged historical child indecent assault offences at Goulburn, NSW Police say.

Detectives from The Hume Local Area Command established Strike Force Charish in February 2014, to investigate historic indecent assault allegations at an educational facility in Goulburn during the 1970s and 1980s.

Police will allege in 1986, a man indecently assaulted two students, aged 12 and 14, at the time.

About 10am today, a 65-year-old man from Mulgoa, attended Goulburn Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of sex assault (Cat 4) Indecent assault on person under 16 years of age under authority.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 8 March 2017.
