Four arrested after damage to 40 myki machines

Transit Divisional Response Unit members have arrested four people after 40 myki ticket machines were allegedly broken into and damaged across Victoria, Victoria Police say.

Following a 6-month-long investigation, three search warrants were executed in Sunbury and Melton this morning.

Police arrested two Melton men, aged 37 and 38, and two Sunbury women, aged 23 and 46.

The 38-year-old man was charged with more than 120 counts of theft, criminal damage and going equipped to steal.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today for a remand hearing.

The 37-year-old man was charged with possess drug of dependence and breach of bail.

He will appear in Sunshine Magistrates’ Court today for a remand hearing.

The 23-year-old Sunbury woman is expected to be charged on summons with possess drug of dependence.

The 46-year-old Sunbury woman was released without charge pending further enquiries.
