Four arrested at hydro house in Riverwood

Police have arrested four people, three illegal immigrants, at a hydroponic house they raided in Riverwood today, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 1pm today police attached to the Redfern Region Enforcement Squad’s Strike Force Grassy executed a search warrant at a home in Talbot Street.

Two men were arrested by police at the front door while two others were arrested shortly after.

Officers located a sophisticated hydroponic setup being used for the enhanced cultivation of cannabis inside the home.

More than 120 plants, with an estimated potential value of $248,000, were seized by police.

The four men were taken to St George Police Station where a 34-year-old local man was charged with cultivate prohibited plant and was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court tomorrow.

Three other men, 21, 24 and 25 years old were detained as suspected illegal immigrants.

Inquiries into the incident continue.
