Four arrested during rail network operation, NSW

Four people were arrested during a Police Transport Command operation targeting anti-social behaviour and alcohol related crime on the transport network, NSW Police say,

Operation Disrupt was conducted by the South/South West Sector of the Police Transport Command on Saturday 27 January 2018. The operation, targeting anti-social behaviour and alcohol related crime, took place on transport network including the East Hills and Illawarra train lines. Sixty-three trains and 85 railway stations were patrolled

Four people were arrested during this phase of the operation.

A 58-year-old Campsie man will face court after being arrested at Kirrawee Railway Station. He was charged with possessing a prohibited drug, believed to be cannabis, and allegedly stealing a mountain bike. He is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on 15 February 2018.

Two 13-year-old boys will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act after the pair were stopped by police at Cronulla Railway Station. The pair will be cautioned in relation to allegedly possessing housebreaking implements, goods in custody and transport offences.

A 28-year-old man was arrested after allegedly being found in possession of prohibited drugs while at Cronulla Railway Station. He will appear in court on a date to be set.

Further phases of Operation Disrupt are expected on the transport network throughout summer.
