Four people have been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Leopold early this morning, Victoria Police say.
The incident occurred at a residential property on the Bellarine Highway shortly before 2am.
Three people were home at the time of the incident, a 46-year-old man, a 46-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man.
A confrontation then ensued between the residents and three males who entered the property.
During this time it’s believed a firearm was discharged by one of the males.
The group then left the property in a vehicle.
Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating the incident.
A 19-year-old Eumemmerring man, a 19-year-old man of no fixed place of address, a 17-year-old Hampton East boy and a 17-year-old Newcomb boy were subsequently arrested by police in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs.
All four will now be interviewed in relation to the incident.
