Four charged after Townsville property crime investigation

Townsville police have charged four people with a total of 79 property and traffic related offences allegedly committed in the District over the past month, Queensland Police say.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a Mount Louisa residence yesterday where they allegedly uncovered a significant amount of suspected stolen property linked to offences committed in Townsville, Charters Towers, Ayr, Ingham and Innisfail.

An 18-year-old Heatley man has been charged with 42 offences including ten counts of burglary, eight counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, seven counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, five counts of receiving tainted property, four counts of failing to stop for police, three counts of stealing and one count each of robbery, attempted robbery, possessing dangerous drugs, enter dwelling with intent by break and unregulated high-risk activities.

An 18-year-old Heatley woman has been charged with 7 offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary and stealing.

A 17-year-old Kirwan man has been charged with 29 offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary and receiving tainted property.

The three adults are due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.

A 15-year-old Mount Louisa boy has been charged with Breach of Bail, with additional charges in relation to property and traffic related offences to follow. He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Investigations are continuing with more arrests and charges linked to the offences expected.
