Four charged during drug and road safety operation in Casino

Four people have been charged after a music event in Casino, NSW Police say.

Between 30 March 2018 and 2 April 2018, officers from Richmond Police District conducted a drug dog and road safety operation during a music event in the Casino LGA.

On day one of the operation, police arrested and charged a 31-year-old man with two counts of supply prohibited drug.

On day two of the operation, police arrested a 21-year-old woman, and two men aged 25 and 24 for drug offences and other serious offences. All three were granted strict conditional bail to appear at a Local Court at a later date.

On day three of the operation, police allegedly detected four people selling drugs inside the event. Three breaches were identified, including two liquor licence and one security breach.

On the final day of the operation, 490 random breath tests and 107 random drug tests were conducted. A total of 27 people were charged with drug related offences, 15 positive random drug tests and one person charged with PCA.

Police continue to urge attendees to enjoy safely, without the possession or consumption of illicit drugs, which can result in charges, fines, and serious health ramifications.
