Four charged following drug warrants in northern NSW

people will appear at court on drug charges after police executed multiple search warrants in northern NSW yesterday, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Glynn was formed by officers from Richmond Local Area Command to investigate the alleged ongoing supply of prohibited drugs.

Following inquiries, six search warrants were executed yesterday morning yesterday at homes in Goonellabah, Lismore and Casino.

At a property in Goonellabah, police located four separate hydroponic set-ups containing a large number of enhanced cannabis plants.

A cannabis plant, along with cannabis leaf, was also seized from a Lismore home, and cannabis leaf was located at a Casino address.

A 54-year-old man arrested at Goonellabah was charged with enhanced indoor cultivation of plant for commercial purpose, cultivate prohibited plant, supply cannabis (indictable quantity), conduct drug premises, and possess prohibited drug.

A 24-year-old man arrested at Goonellabah was charged with possess prohibited drug, cultivate prohibited plant, take part in enhanced indoor cultivation of plant for commercial purpose, and conduct drug premises.

They were each refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court today.

Another 24-year-old man arrested at Goonellabah was charged with take part in enhanced indoor cultivation of plant for commercial purpose, and conduct drug premises.

He will appear at Lismore Local Court in September.

A 34-year-old man arrested at Goonellabah was charged with take part in enhanced indoor cultivation of plant for commercial purpose, conduct drug premises and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Lismore Local Court on Monday 18 September 2017.

Additionally, a 61-year-old Lismore man will be issued a court attendance notice for the offences of possess prohibited drug and cultivate prohibited plant.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to drug supply in the community to call Crime Stoppers.
